Promoting compassion in Nursing
The mission of the Panola College Vocational Nursing Program is to prepare competent, vocational nurses that are knowledgeable, safe and demonstrate a positive and caring attitude. Graduates should be able to care for individual clients across the lifespan within a standard legal/ethical framework.
The Vocational Nursing Program is committed to the preparation of individuals who will assume the role of vocational nurse and collaborate with the registered professional nurse and other health care professionals in the delivery of quality health care.
The Vocational Nursing Program at Panola College meets the state education requirements prepare students to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN) for licensure as a licensed vocational nurse in the state of Texas. Panola College has not determined if the Vocational Nursing Program at Panola College meets the state education requirements in any other state or U.S. Territory. Contact the state regulatory agency for nursing in any other state for which this information is needed. The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) and the Louisiana Board of Nursing has resources that may be helpful.

The VN Program offers two extension locations:
- Carthage program begins in August (Deadline is March 1st)
- Center program begins in January (Deadline is October 1st)
