Welcome to Music at Panola College!

Music is an important part of student life at Panola College!  We also impact the lives of many in our surrounding communities by bringing high quality musical experiences in a variety of formats and ensembles.  Panola College music ensembles perform at over 30 events each year, impacting the lives of many in our surrounding communities by bringing high quality musical experiences presented by a variety of groups.  In addition Panola College places many students each year in the All-State Community College Band and the Two-Year All-State Choir.

Panola College Concert Band:

Saxophone Section of the Band

The Panola College Concert Band performs four concerts each year: the Fall Concert, Christmas in Carthage, the Chamber Music Concert, and the Spring Concert.  During the Spring Semester, the Concert Band performs at home basketball games as the “Stampede” pep band.  Concert Band meets from 2:00-2:50 Monday through Thursday.

Panola College Jazz Band:

The Panola College Jazz Band performs at many events throughout Texas.  Recently they have performed in Henderson, Center, Hallsville and the State Fair of Texas.  The Jazz Band also provides entertainment for local civic and social groups who meet in the Ross Ballroom here at Panola College.  One of their most popular events is the annual “Jazz on the Quad” concert.  They also collaborate with the “Pipers” vocal group to present the “Jazz and Piper Show” each year. Jazz Band meets from 3:00-3:50 Monday through Thursday.

Panola College Chorale:

The Panola College Chorale is the premier vocal group at Panola College.  In the Fall Semester, the Choir presents their annual Fall Concert and “Christmas in Carthage” which showcases the music ensembles of Panola College.  The Chorale has regularly performed with local Symphony Orchestras on major choral literature.  Chorale performances include their Spring Concert in April and the Panola College Commencement Ceremonies.  They also regularly perform at local churches and schools.  Chorale meets from 12:55-1:50 Monday through Thursday.

Panola College Pipers:

The “Pipers” present jazz, rock and pop music to a large audience in East Texas.  They regularly are called on to perform at local civic events, festivals, organizations and nursing homes.  The Pipers also perform at Christmas in Carthage and the Jazz and Piper Show. Pipers meet from 2:00-2:50 Monday through Thursday.

Panola Chamber Singers:

The “Chamber Singers” are an elite group of singers who are drawn from the membership of the Panola Chorale.  The Chamber Singers specialize in the highest level of choral music and sing primarily a cappella literature that is often in foreign languages.  These students are chosen by the Chorale Conductor for this honor.  Chamber singers meet from 3:00 – 3:50 Monday through Thursday.
