Panola College is proud to offer Adult Education and Literacy classes free of charge to community members across our service area. AEL classes are provided at our main Carthage campus along with our Off Campus Centers in Marshall and Center.

High School Equivalency (HSE - GED)
Classes are intended to assist students prepare for the GED exam. The goal is for the student to be prepared to take, and pass, the GED exam as quickly as possible.

Intensive AEL Services are career pathways service models that includes one or more of the following:

Workplace Literacy classes are AEL classes offered on-site to meet employer needs. They are designed with the employer in mind. We can offer GED, ESL, Citizenship, IET, Digital Literacy, or Financial Literacy classes.
Integrated Education Training (IET)
Integrated Education Training (IET) is an overall scope of services designed for a specific occupation or occupational cluster for the purpose of educational and career advancement. IET pairs basic skills training side by side IET services include the three components delivered through integrated services—ensuring that participants gain the skills needed to succeed in the workforce training program by either:
- attaining a recognized postsecondary credential
- entering or advancing in employment
- advancing in postsecondary education and training.
The three required IET components are:
- AEL activities contextualized for workforce training
- Workforce preparation activities
- Workforce training for a specific in-demand or targeted occupation or occupational cluster, as determined by the Local Workforce Development Board (Board).
Panola College AEL Grant funds are available for ELIGIBLE students to pay for partial or entire tuition, fees and support materials needed for the following Continuing Education in-demand trainings:
