The L.S. Mitchell, Jr. Memorial Scholarship was established in 1998 in memory of L. S. Mitchell, Jr. by his wife, Mrs. Lucy Mitchell, his daughter, Mrs. Lucyann Hopkins, and other family and friends. The scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving student in the fields of business, agriculture, or health occupations.
