The Dr. and Mrs. Sterling L. and Geneva B. Davis Memorial Scholarship was established in 2002.

Dr. Sterling L. Davis, a practicing dentist in East Texas for many years, knew that an education could open doors of opportunity. He helped establish Panola College and was a member of the original College Board of Trustees, serving from 1947 to 1966.

Mrs. Geneva B. Davis, a school teacher, also knew the importance of an education and spent her life dedicated to improving the lives of her students.

Mr. Charles Sterling Davis, Dr. and Mrs. Davis’ grandson, and his sons, Russell and Jonathan, established the Dr. and Mrs. Sterling L. and Geneva B. Davis Memorial Scholarship.

The scholarship will be awarded annually to a deserving student majoring in education. The selection and announcement naming the recipients will be made in the spring each year.
