Panola Oral History Collection - MP3 audio recordings and written transcripts - gathered by local high school and college students. This collection of oral history was created by students interviewing local people and family members. Topics include The Great Depression, World War II, The Korean War, Vietnam War, Panola College, local historical events and general family recollections. Interview years range from 1986 to 1999.

Black Gold - PDF format - A publication of Panola College, is a 1970's compilation of interviews about life in African American communities in the Panola County area. The narratives discuss area history, customs, and events from various perspectives.

The Loblolly - PDF format - The magazine was created by the students at Gary, Texas High School for the purpose of preserving and providing information about their community's past so that they may better understand the present world. The stories and information in the Loblolly tells of traditions and life skills which started in early Texas pioneer days.

East Texas Register- Weekly newspaper published in Carthage, Panola County, Texas that includes local, state, and national news along with advertising.  Years 1920 (vol.19) and 1921 (vol. 20) are available.
