Core Curriculum Committee
The purpose of this committee is to establish program-level core curriculum learning objectives and plan their assessment. The Committee shall consist of seven members appointed by the Vice President of Instruction for staggered 3-year terms. The chairperson shall be appointed by the Vice President of Instruction, and the committee will consist of six faculty members from the instructional schools that have courses in the Core Curriculum plus the chair for a total of seven members. Specifically, the Core Curriculum Committee undertakes the following activities: Conducts a comprehensive review of core curriculum on a 4-year rotation, Develops and conducts annual assessment of core objectives for the 6 core areas, Reviews proposals for addition or deletion of core curriculum and forwards its recommendations to the Curriculum and Instruction Committee and Executive Council, Advises academic programs on how to improve the effectiveness of core curriculum courses based on the results of its assessment activities.
